- Why do you think meaningful work is essential to happiness? If this is so, then why do so many try to avoid work?
- Why must we try to relate all of our work (our doing) to our Maker?
- What was “lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of [Christ’s body]? (Colossians 1:24) What part do we play in making up for that “lack”?
- What are some reasons why Jesus sent the apostles out “two by two”? What is the main reason he did so? Do you think the church must always send out missionaries in multiples? Why or why not?
- What is the true source of all Christian ministry today? How can we be sure that some preacher or teacher is authorized by God?
- Why should we seek the lost with urgency? (two reasons)
- Why must God’s servants today always carry with them a sense of dependency on God even if they are well funded by a sending church?
- List some reasons why gospel ministry cannot be successful without God’s sovereign working?
- Why did Jesus say his apostle teams should stay in the first house that offers hospitality until they leave that town? What principle for Christian ministry does this imply for today? What are some practical outworkings of this principle?
