- What most disturbs your sleep? Why?
- Why did Jesus rise up “very early in the morning while it was still dark”? What kinds of thoughts were most likely going through his mind?
- Where do you think the idea began that Jesus was completely immune to any kind of disturbing circumstances or heartbreaking troubles? Do you agree with it or not? Explain your answer.
- What impact does it have on you to think that Jesus experienced “sorrows, and [was] acquainted with griefs” (Isaiah 53:3)?
- Why do you think Abraham “rose early in the morning” (Genesis 22:3) on the day he would take Isaac to Moriah intending to sacrifice his life? What does this tell us about the nature of true faith?
- How did Jesus respond to the news: “Everyone is looking for you”? How do you think you would have responded? What does this tell us about Jesus?
- Why was Jesus’ preaching more vital than the healing miracles he performed?
- What were some aspects of the negative impact of leprosy in that day?
