INTRODUCTION: What could compare with the sting of betrayal?

I. JESUS GAVE HIMSELF WILLINGLY.

II. JESUS WAS NOT THE ONE AFRAID.

III. JESUS WAS TRUE TO HIS MISSION.

IV. JESUS WAS SUBMISSIVE TO GOD’S WORD.

2. How did the eleven show their confidence in Judas?
3. How many opportunities did Jesus have to evade or escape the cross? Why didn’t he?
4. What fights do you have with fear? How can we prevail in this regular conflict?
5. How can we know that Jesus was not afraid when he was seized? Who was afraid?
6. Why can we be sure that God’s kingdom is not advanced through violence or force? When has this NOT been understood? What has been the outcome?
7. Why did Jesus risk becoming vulnerable to his enemies by preaching in the temple, the place of their “homefield advantage”?
8. What was Jesus’ mission? Describe your own mission in life as you understand
9. In what ways could you better fulfill your mission?
10. Which scriptures did Jesus fulfill when he allowed himself to be seized? Why was this important to his mission?
