III. WE MUST HOPE IN THESE SIGNS.

Questions for Family Review/Discussion:

  1. Would you consider yourself to be more or less gullible than the average? Explain your answer.
  2. Have you ever witnessed what you would consider a miracle from God? Tell about it.
  3. What was the main purpose of the miraculous signs recorded in the Bible? Did all of God’s prophets need to prove their message by performing miraculous signs? Should we expect preachers today to prove themselves through miraculous signs? Why or why not?
  4. Why should we expect no further miraculous signs today?
  5. Do you think ALL miracles have ceased? If so, why should we pray?
  6. What is the difference between a miraculous sign and a miracle?
  7. Why should we believe the Bible is the Word of God? Why do we not need new miraculous signs today to convince people that the Bible is God’s Word?
  8. Jesus healed the sick and cast out demons. Aside from these signs proving that he was from God, what is the meaning of these signs in particular? What does this tell us about Christ’s coming kingdom?
  9. The people who witnessed Jesus’ miracles were amazed. Why do you think they responded that way? Why should have been amazed?
  10. What is most hopeful to you about the message of this text?
