Questions for Family Review/Discussion:
- Ever have any experience in a courtroom? Tell about it.
- Atheist Ludwig Feuerbach suggested that God becoming a man was an admission that man was really God. What was really taking place in this?
- Name some of the aspects of Jesus’ trial that showed it to be unfair.
- What was the Sanhedrin? What was their stance toward Jesus?
- Why did the court try to find two witness to accuse Jesus? What happened if the witness disagreed?
- What was the one charge that two could come up with? Why was their testimony disqualified? Why did they fail to find fault with Jesus?
- Why did Jesus not answer the high priest at first? Why did he answer in the end? What logical point was missing when the court found Jesus guilty of blasphemy? Why the rush to judgment on their part?
- What was Mark probably doing when he quoted the high priest’s question: “What is your decision?” Who is really demanding a decision from us about Jesus?
- Why is this decision about Jesus more than a simple choice? What are the true stakes in this decision? What will a yes to Jesus require of us? What makes this an urgent decision?
- When did you first decide about Jesus? Was your decision correct?
