INTRODUCTION: What question was Jesus actually answering?

I. KNOW THAT GOD KNOWS THE FUTURE.

II. KNOW THAT GOD OWNS THE FUTURE.

III. KNOW THAT GOD’S PEOPLE ARE THE FUTURE.

Questions for Family Review/Discussion:

  1. Why do you think people become interested about the last things?
  2. How much do you think about the end of the world and the return of Christ? How much do you think we should we think about these things?
  3. What specific question did Jesus disciples ask him about at the beginning of Mark 13? So, what situation is his answer mainly addressing?
  4. When will (or did) the events Jesus describes take place?
  5. Why precisely does God KNOW the future? How do you respond to this truth?
  6. What kinds of troubles does Jesus name in verses 5-8? When will (or did) these take place?
  7. What specific, targeted acts of oppression would befall Christ’s followers? Why is it of great importance in these times to know that God owns the future?
  8. When will (or did) these acts of oppression take place?
  9. And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.” (vs. 10) What is this probably NOT saying? What IS it saying?
  10. When will (or did or are) the times of tribulation take place?
  11. Is the message in vs. 13 “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” encouraging or troubling to you? Why?
  12. The girl described at the beginning of the sermon was afraid of the thought of Christ’s return. How should God’s people respond to this news?
