- Who are the beloved unbelievers in your life? How do we maintain hope?
- What do you know about this Herod (Antipas)?
- What was unlawful about Herod’s marriage to Herodias?
- Do you believe that a life of unfettered sin and devotion to self is unsatisfying? Why or why not? What is unsatisfying about sin?
- Why was Herod so eager to listen to John preach? How does this instill hope for your beloved unbelievers?
- Describe the various forms of captivity that held Herod in bondage. Think about your beloved unbeliever: What forms of captivity bind them?
- Agree or disagree: “There are no happy unrepentant sinners.” Explain your answer.
- Why is it unnecessary to pray that unbelievers might be miserable? For what, then, should we pray?
- Why was Herod so convinced that Jesus was the resurrected John?
- What are “techniques of sin management”? Why are they so dangerous?
- What are our great allies when it comes to the salvation of our beloved unbelievers? What can we do to assist them?
