III. UNBELIEF DENIES THE TRUTH (AGAINST THE EVIDENCE!).

  1. What’s the last thing that truly amazed you? Why do you think we are drawn to amazing things?
  2. Why do you think Jesus “marveled” at the unbelief of his townsfolk?
  3. What did the leaders of the enlightenment seek to convince people of? How successful do you think they were? What one fact made their deception acceptable to many? What impact has this deception had on you?
  4. How did the people of Jesus’ hometown seek to diminish or downplay the amazing truth? Why did they do so?
  5. What did the people of Nazareth NOT try to deny? Why not?
  6. Why do unbelievers frequently fall into scoffing and mocking?
  7. Agree or disagree: “Unbelief has no logical, rational ground upon which to stand or build its case.” Explain your answer.
  8. What are some common contemporary forms of mocking Christians today?
  9. What would an honest observer have concluded about Jesus in view of all the evidence he provided? What explains the mystery of unbelief today against all the clear and compelling evidence for faith in Christ?
  10. Why did God provide miraculous authentication to his prophets? How can preachers today demonstrate God’s authentication when they preach?
